Overview
About Me
Taiji lover and instructor, Daoist Dharma bum, going off to travel the world and make lifelong friends doing it. Learning the languages, living the cultures, avoiding the tourist destinations.
Aspire to be a novelist, teacher/perpetual student of philosophy, and a Chinese internal martial arts instructor.
Not accepting guests simply because I'm still living under some else's roof, which shall soon enough be remedied at which point I'm totally game.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
To meet people, to make connections with real locals who live in the places I want to visit.
Interests
Martial arts, specifically Chinese internal arts like Taiji, Xingyi, Lok Hup, etc.
Reading books, and procrastinating reading books until I feel guilty enough to blast through four books in one week only to fall into procrastination once more.
I play guitar really badly so if you want some entertainment I'm available though it will be entertaining for the wrong reasons.

Favourite song of all time: A Whiter Shade of Pale by Procol Harum

The guitar intro during the first 20 seconds of Neil Young's Alabama is my favourite intro to any song, ever.
Favourite Live Performance: Hands down Janis Joplin's Ball and Chain at the Monterey Pop Festival (1967)

Big Trouble in Little China. Classic.

I once survived a whole half year of North American Highschool before becoming bored half to death...
Please, hold your applause, I am but a man...
Teach, Learn, Share
I consider life to be a lot more flexible than many people (especially in the West) seem to think it is, and to never take it too seriously. Nothing is really worth sacrificing your happiness for. I've been told for most of my life that I'm good at living in accordance with what truly feels natural to me, and helping others see how beneficial that is for everyone involved and how to live in the same way, that is if they are willing to listen. Which has always felt like the greatest compliment I've ever been given.
