Overview
About Me
Passionate about travel, language, and experiencing new cultures. Big outdoors enthusiast from trekking to climbing to field research. Spent a lot of time doing field work across North and South America, but have recently traveled through Asia/Europe as well. I'm new to couchsurfing but am friendly and a respectful guest and plan to be an occasional host.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Music, Movies, and Books
Love a good narrative whether in book, movie, or storytelling forum. Some favorite books include:
On the Road - Jack Kerouac; Lord of the Rings - J.R. Tolkein; Of Tigers & Men - Richard Ives; Guns, Germs, and Steel - Jarred Diamond; Siddhartha - Herman Hesse; The Good Earth - Pearl Buck; Folklore & mythology from all around the world (everything from the Mahabharata to the Iliad & Odyssey)
Also big fan of cinema:
City of God; Apu Triology; Seven Samurai; Forrest Gump; Pulp Fiction; Lord of the Rings; Kahaani; Dances with Wolves -- and many, many more!
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Field research on bears in North and South America - feeding captive bears to tracking them through the Andes on a National Geographic TV show. Always love to swap stories!
Teach, Learn, Share
Used to teach english on the side when I lived in Ecuador - very open to learning anything and everything about the place I'm in.
