I'm interested in interesting people. I'm living in a studio apartment in Beijing right now, so hosting opportunities are limited, but always happy to show people around.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have slept on many couches, so I'm finally making it official. Excited to start my digital couchsurfing life.

Interests

Languages, East Asian politics, rock and roll, 70s sci-fi movies, very long novels, playing the guitar, the Pacific Islands, writing about writing and reading about reading, nuclear power and media (generally).

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I have: Run with the bulls in Pamplona, climbed over a barbed wire fence and swum 3 miles up river to a majestic waterfall, been chased by wild dogs in three countries (only bitten once!), hunted giant hornets with chainsaws and smoke grenades, flown a plane, learned to speak Tongan (poorly), roasted wild pigs in a ground oven, explored the ruins of WWII encampments on Tarawa, covered the 2012 presidential election for the Japanese media, touched the core of a decommissioned nuclear reactor and so much more...
