About Me

Just returned from an incredible two-year long journey down the Pan-American Highway (from Canada to Argentina) in an old VW van. Picked up a Mexican street dog named Lorenzo along the way, and now we're back in the US making a new home in Seattle. My place is small, but it's centrally located and walking distance from the Seattle Center (Space Needle, MoPop, Science Center, etc), two blocks from the waterfront, and a short walk to Pike's Place market. I work at a research institute full time so I'm gone most of the day, but would be glad to host one or two guests if it seems like a good fit.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

While traveling, I was always shown tremendous generosity by locals and other travelers, and it was always my plan to pay that generosity back someday.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music - Folk, classical, indie rock, funk, jazz, electronic, hip hop. I'm really loving the live music scene in Seattle. Recent shows I've been to: Tame Impala, Porches, Unknown Mortal Orchestra, & Kendrick Lamar

Movies - Documentaries, art flicks, foreign films, the occasional summer blockbuster, etc.

Books - A lot of non-fiction geared towards social psychology, anthropology, and tech/futurism. Past favs: The Unbearable Lightness of Being, Siddhartha, Walden, Into the Wild, On the Road, Even Cowgirls Get The Blues

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

While on the pan-am trip, my van broke down in the mountains of Guatemala with a puppy and 3 European travelers in tow. I spent a month teaching myself how to disassemble/rebuild the engine in the living room of a tiny apartment outside of Antigua.

Countries I’ve Visited

Argentina, Austria, Belize, Bolivia, Canada, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, El Salvador, Germany, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, Netherlands, Nicaragua, Panama, Peru, Uruguay
