ABOUT ME

(on vacation myself from 24 febr till 6 june 2013.)

Tja, Writing about myself...Thats like digging a elephants-grave with a teaspoon after killing it with algodon hydrofilo, no seriously..
Im a serious energy student, training on sustainable energy resourses, of-grid renewable technologies for isolated areas, sustainable energy supply for Caribbean states I find most interesting. I had a great and interesting bachelor with environmental, arabic, latin america society courses. But this takes around 40% of my educational ocupation. Besides this, I try to study and implement as much as possible the yoga sutras of Patanjali, meaning easing the escapades of my mind, and to develop a sense of tranquility wherever I take myself. Hobbies, enjoyments, duties and work become more and more relativated due to this... Im a very open guy, raised between 2 (or even more) cultures! I like surfing, sports, yoga, SALSA dancing (my biggest hobby), good conversations..and ohh so much more!!

PHILOSOPHY

E-V-E-R-Y-T-H-I-N-G around you, (un)touchable, (un)seeable, (un)experiensable, is a creation of your own, even if you don't understand how or why. It exists for you, to let you (1) experience and (2) evolve to eventually become the witness, the all-observer. Therefore, everything -good or bad- works only in your advantage. This enables me to take every challenge with great courage. Life is a joyfull play, how cruelsome it somethimes may appear.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have a room available for travelers, and a couch, and like to show my city/country to visitors. Hanging out with foreigners makes me experience my own place like a tourist again... SUPER!!!!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

From birth on me and my family traveled a lot by foot in Latin America (especially Venezuela) and the local/personal experience I realy got to know, enjoyed, and want to expand more... my past experiences are all salsa-congress related, one in PR and one in Hamburg, where I enjoyed the hospitality of the couchsurfers there

Interests

Energy developments (world-, continent-,nation- and regionwide), energy efficiencies (boring!!! haha),sustainable development through energy savings. wave and windsurfing, a lot of sports (football, ping pong, volley, but all to chill out, as a healthy passing time with people), dancing salsa-merengue-bachata (=everything latin) and of course some yoga ones in a while.

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies: Latin American (Tropa de Elite), Asian (house of the flying daggers), Caribbean (The harder they come), African (Hotel Rwanda, Lumumba) and a lóhót more.

Music: right now Mambo's, guaguanco's, montunos (the oldies, 60's, 70's) from Cuba, Puerto Rico, New York etc.
Books: mostly spiritual/metaphysical/yoga-anatomical (yoga sutras of Patanjaly, Lesly Kaminoff, Anatomy of hatha yoga). I now want to tackle some books on Mahabharata and chakra philosophy.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Done: Walked the Tatra mountains, walked (1/2 of) the ruta panoramica of Puerto Rico (and much more walking:).

Teach, Learn, Share

I teach: hatha/kundalini/bikram yoga, physics of the body, great salsa moves!! cooking. Everything about renewable energy sources, from the physical functioning to the government support you can get here; Im familiarizado.
I want to learn: even more cooking, learning even more salsa moves :) horseback riding, networking, duck-dive with a longboard.
