About Me

I came back from a world trip some time ago and reality caught me up. Currently... dreaming and preparing the next move :)

I like to socialize, share experience and I enjoy everything that is new and unknown to me.
I love traveling, discovering other countries, other cultures, other ways of cooking, other ways of living... Like everybody here, I guess !

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

WHY I LOVE THE COUCHSURFING PROJECT

Without Couchsurfing, nothing would have been there to help me and kick my ass out of my country to meet people. And life is so much interesting when we meet people ! :))
Couchsurfing gave me the motivation to learn seriously english and to get bases in many other languages !

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Never been able to host anyone for now, as I lived in a student residence that didn't allow it. I will start hosting, if I can, with the poor living conditions I can offer. Thinking in progress.

I used twice for hitchhiking trips around central Europe ; also meet people in Paris through Couchsurfing evenings. Finally, I achieved a big trip in Africa and Asia during which I relied a lot on Couchsurfing to help me meeting a lot of people everywhere !

Interests

Too many things to say.
I play music (clarinet, guitar and violin mainly) and can get quite enthusiastic by playing with other people.
I like playing cards and learning new card games.
I like taking photos and would like to learn how to draw (but I have no talent for it in spite of all my efforts).
I like hiking, climbing mountains (where my heart belongs) and enjoy nature.
I like wandering outside by night.
I like having philosophical talks and discuss great modern issues.
I like and I'm always available for strange, surprising, stupid but fun ideas or projects (improvised trip, going as far as possible in a straight line, unexpected bungee jumping, visiting an abandoned house, weekend in the catacombs... anything that can make a good story ^^ )

Music, Movies, and Books

My best movies : the Dead Poets Society, Fight club, Edward Scissorhands
An awesome book : Un roi sans divertissement, from Jean Giono (yes, unfortunately it is a french one but it is translated and it is a bomb !), just after comes probably 1984 from George Orwell and La Nuit des temps from Barjavel (French author again :P).

I like most kinds of music, from "classical" (with a place of honour for russian composers from the romantic period) to world music (especially Irish traditional music which I love to play) through The Beatles's rock, Bon Jovi's glam, Scorpion's hard rock, Rammstein's industrial metal, and Woodkid, and Dire Straits, and Simon & Garfunkel, and Queen, and Europe, and so on ^^

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

A travel around France playing music with a celtic band.
A double trip around central Europe by hitchhiking --> my first and second great CS experiences !

Aaaaaaaand a world trip :D so...
Living in Luo and Kikuyu villages in Kenya during the rain season.
Living among Maasaï people and being invited in a traditional wedding ceremony !
Crossing Tanzania by hitchhiking and by night in a truck through natural parks.
Talking to spirits in the montains of Mutare
Being robbed by 4 guys with knives in a fake minibus in the middle of a rubbish dump in Zimbabwe
Getting lost in the Himalayas without food
Celebrating the nepalese New Year 2073 and escaping the great earthquake in Nepal
Getting lost (again) in mongolian steppes
Hichhiking in siberia
Etc. ^^

Teach, Learn, Share

Talking is teaching, talking is learning, talking is sharing
I enjoy the everyday joys of learning and sharing :)
