About Me

See as much of the world as I can from as many different perspectives as I can find: I want to be a global citizen

I hate these little blurbs- but I'm a student, a photographer, an avid music fan, and a vehement lover of travel. I've had the privilege of traveling all over the U.S. (the west coast in particular), the east coast of australia, and various corners of Europe. I'm an easygoing and considerate person, very amiable, and always open to a new experience and a good time.

This is very difficult to compress into a profile-blurb... I'm not a religious person, nor am I overly-political. I have a lot of beliefs about different issues and bits of life, but I don't think that anyone, let alone a University Student, has any concrete answers to anything- I hold a lot of my personal philosophy to be somewhat private, or at least not worth talking about at length, just because I'm constantly finding things which change it- open-mindedness seems like the best route as far as I can tell. "All I know is that I know nothing"

Why I'm on Couchsurfing

I was lucky enough to stay with and meet a handfull of wonderful people couchsurfing in Europe and I'm now looking to expand through further surfing and hopefully some hosting in the U.S. Also- I love to teach people the things I love, whether it be about psychology, sailing, photography, or just a good conversation about good music--I'm always happy to share what I've got to share.

I've surfed (through this network, at least) in Berlin and Istanbul... both were fantastic experiences. I love this project's mission!

Photography, Music, travel..., psychology, sailing, Urban Exploring, the human experience!

Music, Movies & Books

Music...oh, music- I love a LOT of music--rock'n roll- classic, contemporary, alternative, and punk--bands too numerous to list. I have a special interest in doing what I can to promote smal punk bands though-I DJ a mainly-local punk rock radio show in Tacoma, Washington & the punk community is something I value a lot. But I also always dig a good electronic show of almost any genre--it's all in the vibe, in my opinion.

For Books- I'm a big Kerouac fan, also love Jonathan Safran Foer, Douglas Adams, Dostoevsky, Camus.

And Movies- SLC Punks, Trainspotting, and the Empty nest (-Spanish film, I can't recall the actual title of...) are among my favorites.

One Amazing Thing I've Done

Worked on the television program Mythbusters, taught sailing in the San Francisco Bay, watched Barack Obama become president (@ the rally in Grant Park, Chicago), gotten published in an academic journal.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm experienced in teaching Sailing and Sailboat racing! I can also teach you about photography, and have an academic background in psychology and astronomy.

I'd love to learn more about philosophy, physics, and other extreme/wind sports.

Countries I've Visited

Australia, Austria, Canada, Denmark, Germany, Greece, Italy, Sweden, Turkey, United Kingdom, United States

Countries I've Lived In

Denmark, United States
