CURRENT MISSION

Currently i am somewhat obsessed with building worthwhile things, my next goal is a sailboat

ABOUT ME

well to say everything about me would be a very long novel probably with many uninteresting parts... so i am a student studying environmental studies, but that is not only vague it is also rather uninteresting with the exception of managing a solar panel install at the university and a few other projects like that it is very much without note.

Outside of an academic setting, i very much love making beautiful things. When i have time and access to a shop i build things out of wood, usually Cherry from my grandparents farm. So far i have built a wine rack, a bookshelf, and a cherry box with an inlaid top of laminated red oak and walnut. I also designed and build a metal cold frame largely out of reclaimed material. Beyond that, i have dabbled a little in raising copper vessels, but that is more something i do for a class.

Going beyond (or parallel to) building things, i am very big into cooking. I particularly like making apple pies from scratch or the occasional Tiramisu. My quest for good food has taken me far beyond good restaurants to the source itself. Not only did i grow up on and around farms, i am an avid frequenter of farmers markets. I must admit these days i am less involved with farm stuff than i used to be, but i am thinking about raising some more pigs (I raised a few in high school) and / sheep, both for eating and as a low energy way of controlling some land my parents own.

Beyond that... I like to read, although it is hard to find time now that i am in school. I hate TV, but i will watch movies on occasion. Above all, i want to experience and to live irrevocably. So far i have been getting better at this, but it is a long process.
