I want to live as simply as possible. I want to love and be loved. I want to sail and bike everywhere. I want to be creative and inspired.
I love to be outside. I love to play games and drink beer (especially at the same time). I love to read. I love to cycle. I love to sail. I love to fly kites. I love to sing. I love meeting new people. I love to watch movies. Man, what a good life!
Do unto others as you would have them do unto you. It is cliche for a reason.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I have used CS to travel all across Canada and when I have the space I like to reciprocate all the wonderful experiences I have had.
I have hitch hiked all across Canada and have had nothing but amazing experiences. Couchsurfing has been great from Montreal QB to Whitehorse YK.
I love reading and watching films, sailing, playing chess, woodworking, cooking, drawing, tattooing and walking dogs. I love to be outside and I love learning new things.
Music, Movies, and Books
Well, currently my favorite movies are The Passion of Jean of Arc by Carl Dreyer, F for Fake by Orson Welles, Werner Herzog's The Grizzly Man, ANYTHING by Hayao Miyazaki, anything by Wes Anderson, Ohayo by Ozu, and last but certainly not least, I'm really into Frost and Lynch's Twin Peaks. This is a hard question to answer as I really love watching films and I'm sure next time I am asked, this list will be totally different.
I am really a generalist when it comes to music. In my library I have rap to metal to classical.... That being said however, some particular favorites right now are Sufjan Stevens, Macklemore, Andy Shauf, Buried Beds, A Tribe Called Quest, Edith Piaf, Iron and Wine and Good Old War.
Alright, currently my favorite authors are David Mitchel (seriously, I've read them all and they all blow me away!), Gabriel Garcia Marquez, Neil Gaiman, Murakami and Craig Thompson.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I have painted several murals in my hometown. I have designed a menu for a restaurant. I have owned a small business. I have hitch hiked across canada. I have built several houses. I have biked around Lake Ontario. I just recently bought a sail boat!
Teach, Learn, Share
I worked in kitchens all throughout school, so I really enjoy cooking with/for people. I always love the opportunity to talk about the things I learned in school (so if anyone is interested in social theory surrounding arts and culture, hit me up!). I know about building/construction. I love to talk about tattooing as well. I am an information junkie, so I love to find myself in places where I can learn new things.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I'm really keen in the kitchen. Also I can help do small handiwork jobs around the house if the need/time is there!
