I took a road trip across this beautiful country of mine last summer and when driving through the black hills of south dakota my companion and I were forced to stop our car. there in front of us crossing the road at a leisurely pace was a herd of close to 50 buffalo, some as near as 10 feet from the car. I rolled my window down and the sight of these absolutely beautiful beasts that are tied into the history and spirituality of this area mixed with the intoxicating aroma of the sweetgrass swaying in the wind was one of the most fantastic sensations ive ever felt.
