Overview
About Me
Hi people,
I'm a university student from Amsterdam majoring in Computer Science.
From September 2016 on, I'll be studying at Waseda University in Tokyo. Before I arrive, I'm travelling through Taiwan, South Korea and Japan. I'm trying to learn about the people and the cultures, and hopefully have a lot of fun. My Japanese is still quite basic, but I'm working hard to improve and would appreciate practice.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
When I was travelling through Turkey in summer of 2015 with my sister, she introduced me to Couchsurfing, and it interested me. Now that I'm doing my travels through East Asia, I'd like to meet the people and experience the couchsurfing culture here.
Interests
Since I was a little kid, my parents have taken me to the mountains to walk. After I grew a little older, I tried out Rock climbing and have been doing it since. I've climbed only in europe so far, but hope to visit more places to practice my sport. Around the time that I started climbing, my parents encouraged my to start playing piano. I gave that up pretty quickly, being too impatient (who isn't at a young age?). At age 15, I picked up playing bass guitar and have since been playing jazz and funk in a variety of bands. I enjoy listening to music from pretty much all genres.
In my free time from studying and working, I enjoy playing games (with and without friends), because I think they can teach us a lot about the human condition.

- board games

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Touring with a band through Poland to play music for the terminally ill and disabled. It was an amazing and inspiring experience.
Teach, Learn, Share
Teach you games and puzzles. Even some dutch (It'd be interesting to meet somebody wanting to learn this language).
Learn your culture and maybe some words.
Share music and stories (and maybe some beers? ^_^)
What I Can Share with Hosts
A few good stories, board or card games and music. I'm sure we'll find common ground.
Countries I’ve Visited
Belgium, France, Greece, Italy, Poland, Spain, Switzerland, Turkey, United Kingdom
