ABOUT ME
I have always enjoyed travelling and travelled around the world for 1 year after graduating. Now I am on the road again for 2 months.
I would say I am a pretty laidback dude who likes to walk around new places and soak up the vibe, goofing around and meeting people from other places.
Aside from that, here are a couple of random things about me:
- The edge of an escalator makes me nervous.
- Many people say they like food, but I REALLY love food. Obviously eating, but I like to cook myself as well. Ofcourse I like good food, but if there's some weird/strange food, I kinda really want to try it.
- I am generally curious; curious in learning about the places I visit, the things I do and the people I meet.
- Pets and I have a deep mutual mistrust, but kids and I get along really well. I guess great minds think alike.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
The idea of linking up with like-minded people & exchanging about different cultures is very appealing to me.
Interests
Culture: As I grew up multi-culturally, I'm very interested in other cultures (language, history, art, customs & food). So all places I visit, I try to a least have a basic understanding of these aspects.
Sports: Played football and tennis competitively, enjoy snowboarding & skiing, cycling, lately I have been playing a LOT of ping pong again
Nature: I grew up in the city center but, or rather because of that I enjoy nature a lot. I do enjoy outdoor activities a lot, but am just as happy to just enjoy a nice waterfall.
Music, Movies, and Books
Music: Anything really, there's so much good stuff out there. Currently I listen to a lot of deep house, smooth jazz, soul & funk.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Swimming with bioluminescent plankton on an island in Cambodia - it was unreal
Seeing the Niagara Falls from unclose was pretty dope
In Barreirinhas (North of Brazil) I ran into a church by accident. The whole village was there to celebrate the christening of some 50 kids. But it was very different from the usual: There was beautiful singing accompanied by guitar playing and every kid went with a parent to the altar. All in all a very moving experience.
