No experience what so ever. A friend's friend told me about couchsurfing as he's a host in California.

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

Drove to Reno (5 hr drive) on a impulse. Told my parents I was going to a friend's house for a Lan party
Got caught when I got back because of the stuffed animals in the trunk of the car from winning.

Drove a motorcycle (well a scooter really) halfway through Vietnam. Didn't want to die (scary traffic, and no paved road half the time) so I stopped riding in Central Vietnam and booked a ticket and flew to Malaysia.
The Vietnam trip was part of my South East Asia backpacking trip, I was there for 4 months.
