About Me

Hello!

I am a Brazilian living in Brussels and I have been here for 5 years now. I am always open to meet new people and introduce them to this very underrated city that I call my home.

Update: I can accept guests between May 13 and August 4! However, I now only have one sofa to sleep on and I will be probably travelling for work during some weeks, so I may not be able to host you all the time. Otherwise, I am happy to organize it!

I also DO NOT accept requests 1 or 2 days prior to the time you expect to be hosted, because I ned to prepare myself psychologically for company and I have a very organized routine. Please dont insist.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Since I always a kid I wanted to see the world. I have been very privileged that I was allowed to visit many places, and what I found out doing that is that the best thing about travelling is not the sights but the people you meet on the way. Those are my travel memories that I keep the closest to my heart. So why not expand this "meeting new people from all over the world" to my day to day?

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: I love Folk Music and Punk Rock, which is admittedly a strange combination. Some favourite artists: The Pogues, The Smiths, Patti Smith, Talking Heads, iDLES, The Misfits, Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, Dinosaur Jr., LCD Soundsystem, Deafheaven and many more. I also love Brazilian music and I have a special playlist to present to foreigners :B

Books: James Joyce, Robert Bolano, Yukio Mishima, Franz Kafka, Jorge Luis Borges and many more. I love reading and hope someday to publish something of my own.

Movies: Mulholland Drive, anything by Herzog, anything by Jodorowski, Holy Motors, Mad Max, Italian horror, Japanese horror, 60s, 70s and 80s action and crime flicks. I am always up to catch something at the Cinemathek.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Reach Managua in a chicken bus with a pig on the ceiling
Have a panic attack in Nablus and being helped by very sweet Palestinian police
Going up the Vista Chinesa in my hometown of Rio in the middle of the night and watching the sun come up in the best view of the city with my friends

Teach, Learn, Share

You can teach me anything you want. If i'm free, I'm happy to take you around town and give you useless facts about the city. I also love cooking and am happy to share more underground recipes from Brazilian cuisine.
