Music, Movies, and Books
For whatever reason, I tend to enjoy music on the fringes of the music industry. Some groups I like are Sigur Rós, the Kronos Quartet, The Octopus Project, the mellow side of Sufjan Stevens, some Muse, some The Mars Molta, and some of the more subtle stuff of Radiohead. I also like some classical music, especially Rachmaninov's 2nd Piano Concerto. Basically I like music that is sentimental, mellow, or passionate, not the meaningless plastic-music you hear every day on the radio.
As for books, I've only recently started to appreciate good literature, long after High School English classes... some of the authors I've enjoyed are Franz Kafka, John Irving, Herman Hesse, Khaled Hosseini... I also want to conquer Leo Tolstoy's 'War and Peace' but I don't ever have the time!
Teach, Learn, Share
I have a particular passion for languages and linguistics, which are not the same things I should mention. Not only do I enjoy learning other languages, but I also love to learn about how language as a whole functions.
