About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Sale snow in Death Valley and sand in the Arctic.

ABOUT ME

I was born an army chap who did not know what civilians did till I aged out. I question authority too much to join the service, because I need to understand the motives behind actions, plus my dad said I would end up in the stockade because of my mouth. I try to be honest but that gets me in trouble. I have a very macabre sense of humor that some people just do not get it. I am not one to hesitate or wait for better things to come along, I like to help them along. I can be shy but usually the one to get the conversation or party started. Life is too short to wait for others to show you a good time. Life IS an adventure not a destination; some people just do not get it. I do not like to proof read, just type it and be done. My family calls me the free spirit, not sure what that means. Enough already….ask if you need more info.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I am new at this. So I am learning what I need to do to make this a great experience for all involved. This might sound odd, but I was privileged to have this massive oak tree framing my living and bedroom window. This tree was over 200 years old. This week they cut it down to the root. It took them all day to bring down this mammoth oak. I thought it needed trimming but when they cut it down to the base, disease had eaten out the core. My point of this story is you never know when it’s your time but enjoy your surrounding while you can. Don’t take things for granted. I thought that tree would be here long after I left but it was I who saw it go and feel enriched for seeing it in its final stages of life. So I want to make sure everyone involved has a great time, you just never know what might bring you down.
