ABOUT ME

I am in love with the world and with life. Rarely sit still. I run and hike and read prolifically. I love being active and working out, especially for the freedom it creates for me to do new things and the people I meet in these activities.

Always trying new things: MIG welding, salsa dancing, barefoot running, yoga, spin class, weightlifting, triathlon training, and whatever else is next.

I love to travel and don't do it nearly enough (but I'm working on changing that).

I'm a journalist who is currently working as a photographer and website developer at costume shop since I quit my "adult job" to backpack from North Adams, MA to Gorham, NH. No regrets!

Always open to the next adventure life has for me, which is both scary and exhilarating. I believe in not only accepting uncertainty but in embracing it.

I strive to be good to the earth since I plan to be here awhile.
I believe in giving people as much freedom as possible. And loving rather than judging.
I believe that we'd do more if we didn't let ourselves get so comfortable in our discomfort.
I aim to say no as rarely as possible.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I joined CS last year and then got busy planning two big backpacking trips and then never meandered back til now. I'm back because I'm looking to meet some new people.
Also, I am planning more trips, and so far, two of them involve backpacking, and the others I'd like to have be near civilization.

I love taking people hiking with me, especially people who haven't really gone before or haven't experienced the Whites. Seeing their pride as they summit a 4k-footer for the first time makes me giddy with unbridled joy.
