About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Susan and I love to travel and we love to meet new people- so we thought couchsurfing would be a perfect opportunity for us to do both!
ABOUT ME
Susan and I just got married in March of this year. We have 5 kids ranging in age from 5-24. They don't all live with us all the time thank God!
We are both very fun and extraverted people. I'm a CNN watcher and Susan's a Fox news watcher so where ever you fall on the political spectrum one of us is bound to agree with you! We're both experts on our region and activities in our region so if you come to town we can definitely help guide you in the right direction for food or fun....we might join you too if you'll have us!
PHILOSOPHY
Live, Love, Laugh ! For real...that pretty much sums up our lives
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
We're fairly new participants! We've hosted twice and both have been wonderful experiences. We look forward to travelling and meeting new people!
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
So far it's been really great. The people we've hosted have been very kind, fun, and gracious. The more we learn about the couchsurfing culture and experience the more we love it!
Interests
We love the outdoors. We enjoy going to the beach, building bon-fires on our property, traveling, grilling, cooking, going out on the boat, watching football (We are LSU FREAKS! We all own LSU snuggies thanks to Santa) We are very active in our church- ELCA Lutheran but please don't let that scare you off. We are extremely open minded and we wont try to convert ya! After all, how bad can a church be when the Bishop lets two women get married in one of the most backward states in the union!

Music, Movies, and Books
We like all types of movies and we're both readers...although I have to say since we've met we don't watch a whole lot of movies or TV. We stay busy with the family and do more productive things.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Probably the most amazing (yet horrible) thing Ive witnessed was Hurrican Katrina. Our family was home when it struck the Mississippi Coast. We were chillin out with the windows boarded up when the house filled with water. My daughter was floating on a mattress and I was swimming around trying to find a way to safety. It was crazy but amazing to see the force and power of nature literally in my dining room!
The experience of raising children is quite an amazing process that I enjoy every day. The concept of true love and soulmates is something I didn't believe in until I met Susan and I'm amazed by that every day as well.
Teach, Learn, Share
Professionally speaking I can offer lots of advice in the area of non-profit management, people management, fundraising, recruiting, etc. I'd be a great one to have review your resume or brush up on interviewing skills. Personally, I can share things I learned about raising kids, divorce, step kids, being Gay in a very un-gay environment, cooking, grilling, building things, creative endeavors. I'll be glad to teach you whatever I know. I can play a few instruments and sing too but I'm not sure you'd have time to learn that on vacation.
