COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Been communicating a lot with people via email, which has saved me loads of stress. Have had loads of feedback about local stuff going on that I never would have found from guide books e.g. local volunteer projects, dance classes, rooms for rent with local families, language schools, best places to eat etc.
Has saved me lots of bother. Thank you.

Interests

Dancing - salsa, forro, rumba, reggaeton, dancehall, champeta, samba, african, eclectic!
Music - learning the guitar, love all percussion - buzz off anything out of Cuba and Brasil.
Art - currently dabbling in wood carving, jewellry making, sketching stuff, textiles, graffiti, design, print making, writing.
Gardening - growing my own food and herbs (culinary and medicinal uses). Like to design gardens too.
Cookery - I love food. Baking is my forte. Although I would like to learn how to bake bread better. Hmmm.
The night sky - learning the constellations.
Football/soccer - Am RUBBISH but I love to play!
Capoeira - still trying to learn to spin on my head.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Was recently mesmerised by a beautiful live bubbling lava flow from the top of Pacaya Volcano in Guatemala.
Diving and snorkeling the cenotes in Yucatan Peninsula, Mexico ... sacred serene fresh water sinkholes.

Harvested cacao and processed it on a farm in Costa Rica ... helping make it into fine chocolate. The natural high kept me awake for hours. Oops, that 3 things isn´t it?

Teach, Learn, Share

Can help teach English; organic gardening .. especially how to grow your own food, herb gardening; setting up community groups with skills in fundraising, publicity & community events.
Share ideas on community art projects, garden design, youth work.
I love to cook - got plenty of groovy recipes to swapsie.
Want to learn: eco-building, finger picking on the guitar, spanish, portuguese, community arts, permaculture, biodynamics, dance, percussion, massage, yoga, tai chi, constellations in the sky, story-telling, writing skills, soccer skills!
