CURRENT MISSION

My current mission is to cover as much ground as possible! I'm not picky about where I go... I think there is opportunity everywhere and that no matter where you go, you'll come out of it a better person.

ABOUT ME

I love going out, seeing new places, meeting new people, going to clubs or bars, hiking, taking walks, exercising and being active in general. On the other hand I also love just spending a quiet evening reading a book, watching a movie or TV show or cooking. I was an assistant language teacher in Fukushima, Japan from 2009 to 2013 and absolutely loved it. Now I'm working on my prerequisites for radiation therapy school as well as working as a bartender. I can't travel as much as I used to in Japan, but I look forward to my next trip!

PHILOSOPHY

Waste as little time as possible and enjoy as much as you can while you can. I will never be able to experience everything but I'm going to die trying!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've only ever done it once with a friend! It was here in Japan on a road trip up to Hokkaido. We had a great time so I'd love to do it again!

Interests

My hobbies are basically cooking, exercising, reading and snowboarding. I like doing other things when I have the opportunity, like hiking, camping, swimming, etc. I also am interested in nutrition and love coffee.

Music, Movies, and Books

I like basically all kinds of movies, particularly thrillers, comedies, and dramas. I mostly watch TV shows--my faves being Dexter, Breaking Bad and lately I've been really into Modern Family. I like indie music a lot, like Dr. Dog, The Lumineers, The Tallest Man on Earth, Peter Bjorn and John, Blind Pilot, etc. As for books, I like classics a lot but lately I've been reading more recent novels (currently on the last book of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo).

I have taken a helicopter up and snowboarded down a mountain!

Teach, Learn, Share

I know a lot about nutrition and exercise, since I spend a lot of time researching it. I also know Japanese, though I'm not fluent. I've also been to a few countries so if you're interested in those countries I can give you some info there! I'd be interested in learning anything to do with my interests. And even if it's outside of what I like to learn about, if it's interesting I'd be happy to learn more!
