About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To run at life full speed ahead, smashing through boredom, mundanity and grumpiness, leaving them quivering in my wake

ABOUT ME

I love to write, dance, eat good food, drink very good beer and meet great people. Reluctant eccentric with a penchant for sarcasm. I have all the fun!!!!!!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

My boyfriend Oli and I couchsurfed our way around Europe in 2012, then hosted a whole bunch of people back at ours. Since then we've been surfing with people intermittently (using Oli's account because I only just recovered my log-in in 2017), and letting a whole load of people crash our couch in Berlin (although not officially via the Couchsurfing website). Right now I'm not able to host - Oli and I are temporarily living back at home while planning our next adventure, but I hope to be able to open up the couch in my theoretical future apartment sometime soon...

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

So far I've stayed with a fantastic couple in Pisa, who cooked us a delicious meal and told us the best places to go. Also a primary school teacher in Switzerland who invited us to his schools' production, a guy in Zurich who gave us pizza and watched Garden State with us, a Danish free spirit train conductor/children's author, Polish punks, smart lads in Prague, and so many more...

Interests

I love to move around - I've just moved back from Berlin after living there for three years, will be travelling the USA for a couple of months, and hope to live in Amsterdam and Italy, among other places. I'm a writer and journalist by trade - fresh ideas, quirky newsbites and strange people with an original (or comical) story to tell make me sit up and take notice. I've also worked for a contemporary circus and an urban hula hoop festival - I'm a little bit allergic to sterile offices. I love to discover new places, customs and ways of life - and new food. God, I love food. Shouty or bleepy music, an obsession with thrifting or making my own clothes, bad art, reading any book I can get my hands on then discussing it afterwards and making friends with everyone are among my other interests.
