About Me

I live in Koblenz with my husband Thomas. Our flat is about 4 km from the city of Koblenz. We have a small room for guests, but we are moved in April 2023 and at the moment it is not possible to host someone - maybe soon.

Some years ago we had a diving school and diving store and we did a lot of diving trips in Europe, especially in Italy together with our kids. So we travelled a lot and enjoyed it.

Once I studied social works, but now I am responsible for the ERP-Software in an Italian wholesale company that sells fine food to speciality shops. As we sell products from many countries, I meet people from all over Europe in my company.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

My son and his wife have had couchsurfing guests and couchsurfed as well in different countries. They met very interesting people from all over the world.
My daughter lives in Australia and sometime we like to look for a place to stay in Australia.
We love to travel and have been in many countries in Europe and all over the world. For us it is more important to meet local people than to stay in a hotel.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

When I was 22 I travelled with my friend to Nepal and stayed there 8 weeks. I have a Nepalese friend in Germany and we were guests of her family in several places in Nepal and Darjeeling. In our 3 week trek we stayed in very simple houses along the road. Nepal was not touristic at that time. Where ever we went, we were invited into the houses so friendly. People were very poor, they often did not know if they had anything to eat the next day. But everybody shared everythig they had with us.
I never forgot this hospitality in my life. In Germany it is quite unusual to invite someone who passes along. But why not?

In 2017 I went to Nepal again, this time with my family. I wanted to show my husband, my kids and their partners what impressed me so much in this country . And again we were very impressed by the open minded people, laughing kids and the friendlyness.
