I love traveling. I love seeing the world. I love meeting others and forming genuine connections with them. I study in the US, but am currently taking a break to travel and see the world. Just trying to gain some perspective and learn a little more about myself and how to be a better daughter, friend, travel-mate, person in general!

I love learning more about the world around me, including local traditions, languages, and food! There are so many beautiful places I have yet to see and so many people I have yet to connect with. I love hiking and going out into nature, visiting historical buildings, seeing great architecture.

Travel satisfies my thirst for growth, adventure, novelty, and most importantly, connection to the wider world.

I can’t host right now unfortunately because I’ll be away for a while.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I have always stayed at either hotels or Airbnbs during my travels. The furthest I've gone to try to meet others is staying in hostels. While I love the hostel vibe and meeting other like-minded travelers, I have yet to experience staying with a local host.

I have heard tons of wonderful stories from friends who have couch-surfed and from reviews online. I believe people are always much more willing to give than we expect, as long as we are willing to take the first step. I want to reach out and to create meaningful connections.

I'm excited to meet local families/hosts and would also love to share a piece of my own culture and stories.

I would love to get local tips from my host so I'm not just following the traditional tourist route. If possible, maybe we can even do a language exchange.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love slow and relaxing songs. Ballads, soft pop, r&b, indie rock are all great as well. Upbeat music is great when I'm exercising or on a good strenuous hike.

One of my favorite books is The Geography is Bliss by Eric Weiner. What I originally thought was just a self-help book on how to find happiness turned out to be more of a travel memoir written with great humor. Recounts of his experiences are both amusing and insightful. I love the way Weiner detailed his travels and the conversations he had with different people. I gained a lot of insights from reading about his travels.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I wouldn't necessarily call this amazing, but I have completed an 8-day water only fast, which I am pretty proud of. The experience trained my self-discipline and made me realize how much time I spent a day just eating, cooking, cleaning dishes. I also realized how reliant I was on food whenever I was experiencing negative emotions, whether that be sadness, boredom, stress, or any emotion really.

I can't say I'll necessarily teach you anything, but ask and I'll always be willing to share my thoughts/views :)

And beyond that, I love having deeper talks with people! Beyond the small talks! You can tell me your goals, dreams, struggle, perspectives in life, etc. If you are willing to share, I'm there to listen.
