About Me

I'm a student at Texas State University in San Marcos. I enjoy being outdoors, floating the river, hiking, etc. San Marcos is about 30 min away from both Austin and San Antonio; although San Antonio is kinda boring, Austin is where it's at. I grew up in Washington state and moved to Texas about 3 years ago. 420 friendly!.. I have 2 really sweet and friendly kitties btw. I've taken like 5 years of German but I'm rusty, I know enough to get by and it comes back.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I need a cheap place to stay! Lol plus I'd like to meet locals and get travel tips.

Music, Movies, and Books

Alternative music, Zombieland and Princess Mononoke, The Count of Monte Cristo (the book, the movie was disappointing). It's been a while since I read a book, I don't seem to have time any more. Although I manage to make time for the occasional romance novel or fantasy novel. Ha

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Went on a road trip around South Germany which was AWESOME!

Teach, Learn, Share

There's a ton of cool stuff to do in Austin, some mayor a while ago declared it the "music capital of the world" if that says anything about it. San Marcos is a cute college town that's got a really nice river and some fun bars, also some nice trails. Everything in Texas is really spread out but there's a cute little tourist town about 15min away called Wimberley so that's a nice place to visit. San Marcos is located in the Texas hill country so it's much more scenic than other places in Texas. Dance halls are fun, line dancing, country music, bull riding, and cowboy boots are definitely still around. Rodeos are fun and year round. San Marcos is cool because 97% of the students are instate so you get a feel for real Texans but it's not a little hick town. There's also a huge outlet mall down the street that has fancy stores like coach and gucci, every store you'd find in a mall, and lots of other stuff.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I've got a very clean 2 bedroom apartment to myself so you can have a room and bathroom to yourself. Air mattress. You're welcome to use the kitchen as long as you buy your own food and clean up. As I said before, I've got 2 really sweet kitties.
