About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Take the opportunities that come.
ABOUT ME
Hmm, about me. I've been described as hard-working, gentle, patient and a bit of a muppet. I try to walk with God, and I'm friendly and caring to people I meet. Active and adventurous things appeal and I will take any opportunity I can to try something new.
I guess I'm a scientist - my degree is in Physics and Environmental science and i love finding out how things work. My memory is a bit of a store cupboard for random information which pops out when you least expect it.
I don't think I have a lot of world experience though, so I'm trying to rectify that while I have the chance.
PHILOSOPHY
Take it as it comes, it's all in his plan.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I'm looking forward to my first surfing trip next week!!! When I have a more permanent place I will be offering my couch to others. And I have tried to donate and get verified, but my card keeps being declined!
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
It's wasn't official CS, but in my last house loads of different people were always coming to stay on the multitude of sofas. I've lived with ten different groups of housemates in the last ten years, so living with people I've only just met is second nature.
Interests
Whitewater kayaking, climbing, walking, cycling, body-boarding, snowboarding... I'll try most things active/outdoors.
I like finding out how things work. Like bridges and ecosystems and doorbells and quantum physics.

Music, Movies, and Books
Movies: Involve sitting still longer than I generally have the patience for - I usually have other stuff to do.
Music: An eclectic mix of almost anything (you should hear my compilation discs!)
Books: Usually factual books; Christian literature, biographies, popular science. Though the occasional crime thriller does appear on the list.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Kayaking trip to the foothills of the Himalayas in India. Paddled every day for two weeks and saw some of how different life can be from my own.
Teach, Learn, Share
Pretty good at making cakes and other sweet things.
I'm a qualified kayak coach with enough kit to give a taster session.
I'm learning to knit - just finished my first project... roll on the second :)
Anything I know, I'm pleased to share with anyone who wants to know.
