Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I haven't hosted anyone in my flat yet, but I'm really looking forward to go back home and host people.I love meeting people from all over the world and chatting with them, and CS is great way to do this!I have really enjoyed surfing and the activites so far and hope to do more.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I only recently joined CS on the advice of a very wise friend; I wished I had done so earlier!I went to my first ever meet recently which I really enjoyed. I met some really cool people, and thankfully met the first person I surfed with who has been great. Its been an excellent experience so far, I hope it continues this way.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love to read; all different types of genres. I will read just about anything. I can live without a lot of things, but not a book.My favourite book is The Kite Runner. To me, it's more about the rhythm or the message being conveyed in the song that's important rather than the type of music.I do, however, love Adele and every song she has ever sung.I have always had and always will have a soft spot for rock music. My brother is a D.J and so has recently gotten me listening to dubstep, I never thought that would happen!I really enjoy going to the cinema, something I rarely have enough time to do. So, usually I watch movies online. I don't have a favourite type but do get bored of the formulaic rom-coms. I enjoy being really freaked out by a good horror movie, although I thought Saw was pretty nasty. On the whole, movies which started off as books are almost never as good as the original book.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Spent three months in the desert of Wadi Rum, Jordan. It was a completely different experience to anything I have ever done before. I really wanted to get out my comfort zone and strip my life back to its bare essentials so to speak. I needed a break from my life and to do something so totally out of character as I felt I may never get the opportunity again. I also wanted to experience a culture vastly different to my own. The desert was as about as different from London as it possible to get!I think it was a positive experience and I feel that I have grown as a person.

Teach, Learn, Share

I like to learn from other people; be it their ideas, language or something else.I hope you can learn something from me.
