About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To save the world. But outside of that, I'd just like to continue to increase my circle of good friends and continue my crazy, international adventures.

ABOUT ME

My friends would probably tell you that I'm the one they think of when they concoct something crazy to do (be it a destination vacation, a newly contrived sport that may or may not involve bodily harm, or just a new breed of bar crawl) and want to call the one person they know is up for anything. This is not to say that I lack for judgment, just that I am generally, for better or for worse, up for anything. I always do what I say I'll do, and my friends, bless their hearts, having always been willing to forgive my considerable zeal because they know how loyal I am to them.

My brothers will tell you that while I have been known to be somewhat sarcastic, I have a good heart. I'm always up for doing good deeds early on weekend mornings, but it'll probably be with a bit of a hangover. They'll also tell you that I lack the ability to watch TV and hold an intelligible conversation simultaneously, though that's neither here nor there.

I've had the incredible opportunity to meet the most spectacular group of people that a guy could hope to encounter. I've lived in a host of amazing places like Beirut, Nairobi, Rio de Janeiro, Shanghai, and Dublin that still bring a smile to my face when I think about them. I moved to Beirut in August to teach at the American school and would highly recommend the country based on my limited experience here.

Winston Churchill, my favorite curmudgeon, once said, "I am an optimist. It does not seem too much use being anything else." I couldn't agree more.

PHILOSOPHY

Work hard, play hard. Do more good than harm. If you can't be good, be discreet.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I joined Couch Surfing several years ago and hosted several people when I was living in the DR and Lebanon. I just moved to Quito and am looking to meet new people.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've hosted numerous groups of people and have had very positive experiences thus far.

Interests

I enjoy playing and watching sports (especially soccer and basketball), music, movies, good ethnic food (preferably Thai, Peruvian, Italian or Mexican), and sampling fun local bars. I love to read, and I love The Economist. I travel frequently and have seen the better part of most continents, having lived in all but Australia and Antarctica.
