ABOUT ME

I am curious (not in a pesky interfering way) about cultures and people, Iam adventurous and enthusiastic. I can get carried away often....especially with generosity. As my friends say 'I am generous with time , money and spirit' Don't know though it is good to be that way in this cut-throat world, So I am trying to curb that.
I enjoy doing many things....actually too many things. I take photographs. I used to run, along with my business partner, a restaurant in south Delhi (called gunpowder) where I used to cook as well. I happen to be a cultural anthropologist by training and vocation...i teach at a university in Delhi.

PHILOSOPHY

I do not to like to carry negative energy. Peace and compassion, however cliched, is what I want and feel the world needs.

Reading , photography, art, cooking, music...more music, film, hiking. Greenery...I have to be surrounded by trees and plants.I have interest in all things that touch my five senses.

la Strada, Roma, Paris Texas,City of Gods, Pillow book...there are too many. I admire many directors: Jim Jarmush, kurosawa, Bergman, Cohen brothers, many Iranian film makers and films.

Too many books to list...I like reading.

Music: am open to all kinds of genres and varieties but tend to appreciate something that is not commercial crap.

every encounter with another culture can be a learning , teaching, sharing experience...for both people involved.
But very specifically i can pass on few tips on cooking, talk about anthropology...perhaps.
