Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I’m planning an exciting trip through Europe with my best friend, who is like a sister to me. Italy, in particular, is at the top of our list—we’re eager to explore its beauty, history, and culture.
I chose Couchsurfing because I believe it offers a much more immersive and authentic way to experience a country. Staying with locals gives you a unique perspective on the culture, traditions, and daily life that simply can’t be found when staying in hotels. It’s not just about visiting a place, but about truly connecting with the people who make it special.

Music, Movies, and Books

When it comes to music, my taste is incredibly broad—I love exploring different genres and eras. I often listen to music in both English and Spanish. Some of my all-time favorites include jazz legends like Louis Armstrong and Ella Fitzgerald. I enjoy reggae in any language, as well as Central American rhythms like salsa, reggaeton, and merengue. I’m also a big fan of electronic music, from tropical house to progressive techno.
Rock holds a special place in my heart, especially the timeless music of Queen. And, of course, pop is a major love of mine—I’m obsessed with Wham!, ABBA, Maroon 5, The Jackson 5, Oasis, Arctic Monkeys, The Police, and many others (I could honestly list favorites all day!).
As for movies, I have a similar variety of favorites. I love historical films and movies based on true events—they fascinate me. But when I need a break from the intensity of reality, I switch to romantic films. My favorite romantic movie is About Time. I also adore musicals like Mamma Mia!—it left me with a huge desire to travel to Greece. Action films from the Marvel universe also hold a special place in my collection. However, the movie I treasure most is Big Fish, as it’s the one I used to watch with my dad when I was a child.
I’m also starting to dive into the world of literature. Right now, I’m reading the Fifty Shades of Grey trilogy, and I must say—I’m absolutely loving it!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I believe the most amazing thing I’ve done is deciding to start out on a journey to explore Europe and immerse myself in new cultures. While I feel like my most incredible adventures are still ahead of me, taking this leap to step out of my comfort zone, meet new people, and create unforgettable memories is a big step toward the life I’ve always dreamed of.
