About Me

Hello. I'm currently an English teacher in St Petersburg, Russia. I'm am originally born in Taiwan, but grew up in Canada for the most part.
I do realize that my name is an unusual name, and that it's very easily forgettable. So just to let you know it's pronounced "eebree".
Practically in my entire life, there has been so many people who were never able to remember my name, or how to pronounce it right when reading it. So if we are meeting for the first time or first few times, please don't feel bad if you've forgotten how to say my name, you can ask me again and I won't be offended:) just ask me as many times as you need:)(and I'm also sometimes bad with names too anyway:D)
I grew up living with my mother and my sister, and together we have moved many times before, and ever since we became independent from our mother, it seems now we too can't stop moving somewhere ourselves:D
Somethings that I value in life are family and friendships. Although I may not have many friends, the ones that I do have are lifelong.

PHILOSOPHY

To try to see the good in everyone(even if they don't seem that nice).
To try to see the usefulness in everything(if even it seems completely useless).
To try to see the bright side of any situation(even if it seems hopeless)
To try to understand a stranger's point of view ,or at least understand why they would think this way(even if it's the complete opposite of what I think)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

The people, who have had the greatest impact on my life, are all from couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I had couch surfed a group called P.U.B. I remember I didn't thoroughly check their profile at the time. They had messaged me back giving directions to the place. The directions were a little odd, it had lead me down this winding dirt path into a ravine, that was obviously hand dug. It was definitely well hidden I have to say. After a few minutes walking or almost climbing down towards the end, I realized what P.U.B stood for, which was Place Under Bridge. It turned out that these people had built a club house of some sort, under a bridge, it was a crazy setup, but it was kind of lonely as there was no hosts or other couchsurfers there at the time.

Interests

Rockclimbing, riding my bicycle, play ping pong, frisbee game, hockey, learning about new cultures and countries. meeting people from all parts of the world, living in a new country, backpacking somewhere, a chess game perhaps, trying new foods.

(I think this list will grow bigger as I meet more people)

Foriegn movies and books for now.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

A friend of mine had these shrimp chips which his mother found hiding in their freezer somewhere in the basement. Anyway, they come in a frozen package and you're suppose to cook them so that they turn into chips before you eat them. Now the amazing thing here is that these chips and have been stored in their freezer for about 25 years! (according to the expiry date). He cooked them anyway just for kicks I guess. Ended up trying a few, they tasted fine surprisingly. I can honestly say now that I have had the privilege of eating a food that was older than me. (by 6 years!)And didn't get sick either!

Teach, Learn, Share

I find I'm really experienced in very useless things, and very inexperienced in very useful things. would be happy to share what i can do, and then you can show me something else really useless:D

What I Can Share with Hosts

Hopefully we can exchange some life experiences.
