About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Understanding eco-criticism, the portrayal of man nature relationship in Literature. Also, understanding the world in general and my won society and myself in particular through it.

ABOUT ME

I like meeting people wherever I travel to. I believe, until and unless you meet local people of the place you visit it does not make much sense.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have hosted many guests since the beginning of this year and it has been great experience to have met new people across the globe, having a better idea of the world we are living in through CS. CS has also become a bridge between me and the rest of the world. It always reminds me of trust we have on someone we never met before. And feeling home away from home and to make someone feel the same, this is what makes me proud of being a member of CS!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Till now I have had a very good experience through it. I could meet some very nice people in Prague and Budapest, also after started hosting here in Assam, I have got some friends for life. You can really find some very nice people to trust and to be trusted. It just made me believe that there are still enough good people in this earth.

Music, Movies, and Books

Its not very easy to make a list of my favorite books or movies, but Thomas Mann's ''Tonio Kroeger'' had influenced me a lot! Movies made on Indian partition have always been my favorite, 'Lord of The Rings' I can watch regularly. About music...Cannot name some specific one, but folk music from across the globe!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Firstly when I got selected for the graduation course in the Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi, many unknown students had helped me during the admission procedure. I did not know anyone, but they helped me in every step of my admission and it was a great help for a person like me. It was a great feeling you cannot explain, the way they help new students, they just bring a homely feeling at an unfamiliar place.

Secondly, as first year students we had to participate in the 'North East Cultural Night', the annual cultural program held in the JNU; it was my first stage performance, we had to participate in the folk dance and the traditional couple show event! Too nice experience it was, but was too shy that time.

The third and probably the best experience in my life till now was meeting a musician just at the middle of the Chain Bridge over Danube at 2 am in Budapest playing violin; he was playing Beethoven. It was awesome. We had talked for almost 1 hour and I simply cannot forget it in my whole life. The river I fell in love with, the time, the music, the people and the city itself! Best environment I ever had.
