About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To explore, share and learn with a smile :)

ABOUT ME

Hi there guys.

Originally born and (partially) raised in Nova Scotia, Canada, I also lived in British Columbia, Alberta and Ontario and have explored much of our beautiful country. Tree planting in BC while in university in NS started a love affair with western Canada. Trees and mountains are awesome!

I have lived on the island of Jersey in the British Channel Islands for over 13 years - I arrived here after working as a Divemaster on Utila in the Bay Islands, Honduras. I lived in Central America and Mexico for about 2 1/2 years off and on between working stints in Banff.

I am a senior trust professional and work in anti money laundering and compliance for an independent trust company but this does not define my exisitence - it kind of facilitates it - I am left leaning libertarian who happens to work in an office - c'est la vie.

PHILOSOPHY

To connect with different people and live my life in a full and responsible manner.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Not one for a free ride, I would like to provide perks like cooking, mixology and conversation. I enjoy meeting new people and cultures and exploring our humanity.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have had many positive experiences crashing on someones sofa, both with friends and friends of friends. For me, the best experience was in Guatemala, where I was staying in El Peten, volunteering and living with a family (their couch was a corner in the kitchen). It was a very rewarding experience.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Watching my children come into the world and being lucky enough to see a lot of the world. Diving and looking at fish and coral is pretty cool too.
