ABOUT ME

I spent most of my life here on the Big Island of Hawaii. Born in Hilo, a golden childhood in Kau, and high school in Waimea. I spent 4 years in San Diego where I studied Marine Science and made some life long friends. I love how my life seems to come together just wonderfully.
I have been back in the middle of the pacific for 2 years now working first in aquaculture, then algal biofuels research. I enjoy Hawaii but I am ready to do some serious traveling.

I love being around people who are stoked on life, soaking up the adventure. I strive to meet others like that while hosting Couch surfers and traveling.

PHILOSOPHY

I understand what a gift it is to be alive and I also understand that our life, as we percieve it in this physical state, is limited. Lets feel good every day, and enjoy the breath and everything else that comes from that.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I love showing people the beauty of my island, going on hikes and beaching and welcome anybody with a positive spirit. I share a little about Hawaii and the host shares a little about their home.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I started couchsurfing by hosting people with my past roomate in Kailua Kona. Since then, I have been living a more transient lifestyle. I meet with people to show them my island, and more recently I have had the opportunity to be hosted in Buenos Aires. It is the best way to travel and meet beautiful people.

Intereses

Hiking/exploring/Camping, Surfing, Yoga, Pupus (hawaiian for appetizers) and cold beer at the beach for sunset, dancing, live music, improv, Cooking/Eating. Basically the good life

Watched the stars from the top of the largest mountain in the world (Mauna Kea), Scaled Kohala and Hualalai mountains, Surfed Lymans on a huge winter Swell. Pretty much just living an outdoorsy life in Hawaii yeilds amazing sights and activies all the time.

I went to school to study about how the land, atmosphere, and humans all interact and how they all are interdependent on the Ocean. I can offer good conversation on the topics of environment and ocean studies as well as a perspective of someone who has lived on an island their whole life.

I am really interested in becoming adept at growing and producing food in a sustainable way in order to become more independent. I also wish some day to learn how to sail, which enables the adventurist at heart to move where they might desire using what is given to us freely on this earth.
