About Me

I really enjoy learning new things and meeting new people. I'm trying to see and learn about as many new places as possible. My mission is to change the world for the better, one day at a time.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Every time I've stayed with a new person, my faith in humanity and awe of human kindness has grown. There are truly some wonderful people in this world.

Music, Movies, and Books

I'm a huge Ben Folds fan! I had the opportunity to see him perform with a full symphony last fall - by far the best concert I've ever attended. I also like folk music and EDM.

My favorite movie is "The Truman Show" - it covers a lot of really interesting topics like religion/spirituality, privacy, and the rise of technology.

Book-wise, I like nonfiction, especially history, social commentary, biographies, law, and science. As far as fiction goes, I enjoy titles by Christopher Buckley (Boomsday, Florence of Arabia, Thank You for Smoking), Dan Brown, and John Grisham.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

During a trip to Ireland, my friend and I were in Dingle, Co. Kerry, and we decided to rent bikes for the day. As we biked lazily along the road, we passed a little booth (and locked gate) that said you could climb this huge hill (Carhoo Hill) for 2 euro. At the top is the Eask Tower, a stone structure that used to serve as a mariners beacon. On our way back, we saw that the owner had come out and was collecting money for other visitors, so we paid up and hiked to the top of the hill. WOW is all I can say. The views were incredible at the top - the ocean, Dingle harbor, flowing fields, plunging cliffs. An absolute must-see - to think we almost biked by! We also met some new friends from California which was great.
