music - as a kid, started from pop-rock, into 80s rock, metal, 90s and 2000s punk and then 50s 60s blues and jazz and modern rnb, edm, chillstep, lo-fi, whatevs.

movies - wes anderson, quentin tarantino, woody allen and other hipster stuff. most big budget scifi or superhero productions, some good drama. some netflix originals. rick and morty. great standup.

books - internet has basically killed these for me... but, non-fiction. truths be stranger than stories folks.

Seriously, I helped start and collect resources for a voluntary grassroots earthquake relief effort, focused on health, and worked on the field as the sole medical officer for remote mountainous villages. We helped thousands of people.

Also that 10 day Vipassana meditation retreat. The best.

Soon: starting a podcast on science and society, and making some indie music.

Interested in learning more about art and how it affects culture and society. Literary, pictures, motion, theatre, culinary, craftsmanship, design... anything. As someone with a science background, I think it would help round me off as a person. Plus, I think it is a worthwhile pursuit, more so in a post-automation, post-AI reality.

I also love them romance languages.

I can cook some Nepalese meals and play and sing bits in a couple tongues. I sometimes make goofy impromptu songs.

I can perform as well as teach someone first aid.
