ABOUT ME
As a recent graduate-school graduate, and helper of people (mental health counselor/therapist), I have recently decided to fulfill a dream I have had for many years--to bike (cycle) coast-to-coast acoss the United States. I am a extroverted yet relaxed person. One of the reasons I went into psychology is because people tell me they feel very comfortable talking to me. My interests are in people, their stories and their cultures. Besides visiting various countries in Europe, I studied in Spain as an undergraduate, traveled to Mexico many times, and spent several months in Brazil. (oh, and I like using parentheses).
PHILOSOPHY
I believe in pursuing dreams (and helping people along the way).
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
My parents have graciously agreed to house fellow travelers until I am able to do the same after my four month biking surfari!
You will get a nice bedroom and probably a good meal while you are here. Plus my parents are actually quite interesting people (just ask how they met)
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I'm pretty new to CouchSurfing!
Interests
Other cultures, Scrabble, surfing (with waves and wind as well as on couches), singing and composing music, making people laugh...oh, and biking, in case you didn't guess.

Music, Movies, and Books
Currently reading Cervantes Don Quijote during my bicycle tour. I also enjoy classic American authors, Mark Twain and Hemingway. Musically, I like any good music, but I'm currently gravitating toward the mellow James Taylor, Elton John, Jack Johnson, and others. Movies: When Harry Met Sally (very oldie but very goodie), Gattaca, Godfather I and II, Before Sunrise. I'm unable to list all my likes here, but I'm open to a lot of different genres of movies, music, and books.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I have flown through the air by the power of a kite(while learning to kite-board)--I call it "the unintentional Superman".
Oh, I just have to add one more...I taught in an "inner city" school in the South Bronx right out of college. The stories I can tell!
Teach, Learn, Share
I have taught Spanish and English. I am pretty versed in the theory and practice of psychology (given my background, it would sad if I weren't!).
