Overview
About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Design prosthetic limbs, fight for political change, discover Paris's secrets
ABOUT ME
I design prosthetic limbs.
I fight for political change.
I enjoy sharing things and experiences.
I'm currently finishing up a dual masters program in mechanical engineering (from Georgia Tech) and biomedical engineering (from ENSAM and Université Paris Descartes). Afterwards, I'll continue my career in the design of prosthetic limbs.
Back in the United States (where I'm from), I spent much of my free time working on political campaigns and engaging in other forms of political activism (see my picture). I think it's a great way to improve my surroundings (or at least work to prevent their deterioration) and a fantastic way to meet people.
In addition to political work, in my spare time, I enjoy traveling, the outdoors (skiing, hiking, kayaking, biking, camping), and learning. Recently, I began taking salsa lessons. Maybe one day I'll be as good at dancing salsa as I am at making and eating it.
Traveling is especially fun for me because so often it provides a wealth of opportunities for me to learn and eat and drink and see and do new things.
PHILOSOPHY
I'll eat anything that's too slow to escape. I'll share it with you if you want. If you don't want to eat it, that's fine - I support you in your desire to eat or not eat whatever you want - but I'll still eat what I want.
Don't lean on the poles in the metro when the train is crowded.
Don't judge. Empathize.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I participate by hosting and by meeting up to show people around. Since moving here, I've focused all of my adventuring efforts towards discovering parts of Paris which are secret (think: parties in unconventional spaces) or frequented by locals (think: good, cheap drinks). If you want to come on adventures like these, hit me up!
Once my schedule opens up, I'd like to do some more traveling. Maybe at that point I'll expand my participation to include surfing.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I've hosted two people - it was great! I love meeting people who are traveling and/or while I am traveling, because I find that the experiences I share with them are often the most enriching of all.
