Overview
About Me
I was born in 1971 and a native Arizonan and ASU graduate with a BA in Studio Art. My love of art, artifacts, and biology led to a career as an exhibition designer where I specialized in Natural History Museums, Zoos, and Aquariums. I am still taking on design projects but am mostly focused on painting and public art projects. I love traveling and have been to many places around the world from Peru to Paris and love to explore cities and wilderness areas with equal passion. I've participated in Burning Man (Black Rock City) several times and have a desire to get involved in (and visit) interesting immersive art environments like Meow Wolf in Santa Fe , NM where I created site specific artwork (mural) and East Jesus in Slab City, California where I have left a few mutating sculptures .
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
To meet interesting folks! I have done extensive travel for work and vacation where I have stayed in hotels because I was on a job or project I and needed time in the space to be isolated and get work done. I am planning a few trips that are personal vacation only and I will have the time to meet new people.
Interests
I am interested in meeting artists and seeing what folks in other art communities are doing. I am also interested in visiting historical and sacred sites as well as paranormal sites.

Music, Movies, and Books
I'm an eclectic music listener. I enjoy everything from punk to classical. I read quite a lot: Neil Stephenson, Tom Robbins, books about contemporary artists, magic, shamanism, and history... I love historical fiction. Moviewise I am a sucker for all of the superhero films out right now... Star Wars, Harry Potter... I basically love movies that create entire universes of characters and worlds that can go on forever.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I was living in Venice Beach, one of my favorite cities. A friend invited my girlfriend an I to live on an 80 acre off grid "ranch". The owners of the ranch were moving 7 miles away to be near the school that they started. I had always wanted to see what it would be like to live self sufficiently out in the middle of nowhere and get back into the rhythms of nature. So for me this was a very spontaneous decision as I normally analyze everything and plan things very carefully... within a month of being invited we packed up what we needed and moved there. We lasted 9 months and had a wild time. Lots of ups and downs but memorable and one of the most interesting things I have done. I even started a blog about it that ended when we moved to Phoenix. here is the link: http://heartsandgoats.blogspot.com/2014/05/
