Overview
About Me
Hi, I’m Billi (they/them)! I’m a queer traveller from Sydney who’s passionate about building community, learning from different cultures, and unlearning colonial ways of seeing the world.
I'm planning on completing the Camino Portugues this trip!
For me, travel is about people more than places. I love sharing meals, stories, and late-night conversations that stretch from laughter to philosophy. I find joy in queer community wherever I go whether that’s through art, activism, or simply being present with one another.
I also love movement and creativity: long distance running, dance, hiking, meditation, yoga, bouldering, journaling, and visiting art galleries. I balance adventure with reflection, and I’m always curious to learn from the people I meet.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I believe Couchsurfing is about more than finding a bed, it’s about building connection. I’m here to meet people who want to share culture, kindness, and community. I want to experience Portugal not just as a tourist, but through the eyes of locals who are open to exchange.
For me, hosting and surfing are acts of hospitality that resist the transactional nature of travel. It’s a way to practice generosity, queerness, and solidarity across borders.
