About Me

Hi, my name is Birgir
I guess I'm an outdoors person who likes hikes, skiing, trailrunning and most "nature" activities.
I'm not used to having to write it down so now I'm a bit stumped.
I'll try to update this when I can think of more.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I first got into Couchsurfing during a trip in summer 2022 with a friend who had been part of the community for years. She introduced me to it, and we ended up meeting amazing hosts and people across Croatia, Albania, and France. That experience really stuck with me — it showed me how meaningful it can be to connect with people through travel in a more personal way.

Since then, I’ve hosted a few travelers and met up with Couchsurfers from different parts of the world. It’s been such a fun and rewarding way to share stories, cultures, and perspectives.

I’ve now moved back to Reykjavik and would love to keep that going — whether it’s meeting up, showing you around, grabbing a coffee, or hosting when I can. My current place is quite a bit smaller than before, so hosting is a bit more casual: I have a sofa (and possibly a blow-up mattress) in the living room, but I’ll always do my best to make you feel welcome and comfortable.

Looking forward to meeting more awesome people from around the world 🙂

Music, Movies, and Books

Daft Punk has a big place in my heart.
Most of the books I'm reading now are related to Stoicism as I've recently gotten interested in the philosophy.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I don't know, maybe that I flew to Toronto in 2019 and bought a motorcycle [Suzuki V-Strom] and drove 10.000km across Canada in 5 months. That was pretty sweet.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Everything I know and my home. :)

Countries I’ve Visited

Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Canada, Croatia, Denmark, Faroe Islands, France, Japan, Kosovo, Montenegro, Norway, Spain, Sweden, Thailand, United States, Viet Nam
