Hello! My name is Birgitta, but I often go by "Missy" too. I'm an American currently living in Vienna, Austria. I work part time as an English teacher and also intern at a film company.

I like to spend time outdoors, especially hiking and backpacking. I also really like to read and watch movies and occasionally make my own short films. On a typical weekend in Vienna I like to explore new parts of the city, go to museums, or take a walk along the canal.

I'm friendly and easy-going. I'd love to check out a museum or explore the city together but am also happy to spend time by myself.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I've always heard great things about couchsurfing from friends and have used couchsurfing once before with my boyfriend. I'm moving back to the US in July, so I want to use these final months in Europe to do some traveling. Couchsurfing seems like a great way to meet new people, especially locals, and have some fun and interesting experiences!

Music, Movies, and Books

Some of my favorite movies are Phantom Thread, Water Lilies, and Somewhere. I'm very interested in films and filmmaking, and one of my new years resolutions is to watch more movies this year. I like most genres except for horror movies. A few of favorite bands/musicians are Tops, Tennis, Angel Olsen, the Beatles, Jessica Pratt, and Bedouine. I love to read and finish most of my nights by reading a chapter or two of my current book.
