About Me

Hey, I’m Biswa from the City of Joy, Kolkata, West Bengal, India.

A traveler by soul, a wanderer by heart, and a corporate slave by profession (with a dream of my own startup). But beyond the desk job, I’m someone who escapes into nature; not to run, but to return. To find myself. To feel something real.

I love lying under starry skies, thinking deeply and questioning existence; dancing in the rain to heal; and sitting beside flowing rivers because they remind me of the circle of life. I take the slowest trails in the mountains not to reach faster, but to feel deeper. Because the most beautiful moments aren’t at the destination. They bloom in the pauses, the slow footsteps, the stillness between heartbeats.

Couchsurfing, for me, isn’t about a free stay. It’s about connection, kindness, and the magic of shared humanity. I believe strangers are just friends with stories you haven’t heard yet.

You know, we often worry about the past and the future. But my friend, the past is already gone, and the future is unknown. So let’s live now. With open arms, curious eyes, kindness, and lots of love. Because we have one life, and it’s too short to worry about.

If you’re chill, curious, and open to a little weirdness and wonder, we might hike, cook, talk, laugh, get lost, or just vibe in silence.

😂 1 Fun(ish) story of my life to break the ice:

Once, with some friends and tribal folks deep in the jungle, I ate what I thought was fried chicken liver (without asking) and said, “Damn, this is good chicken!”
Everyone burst out laughing, and one of my friends leaned in and said, “Bro... that’s not chicken. It’s goat testicle.”
I froze. “HUH?”
They laughed even harder.
I laughed too... but deep inside, I died.
And so did my stomach.

So yeah, I’m a deep-feeling human with a dangerously spontaneous sense of humor. I promise you won’t be bored.

👉 Message me, stranger. I’m waiting for you.

And hey, if you're curious to know more about me before that, feel free to follow my journey on YouTube 🎥: Adventure of Biswa.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

To connect, not to collect.
I believe the world becomes warmer when strangers meet without expectations. I’m not here for free lodging. I’m here to explore lives, swap stories, cook together, get lost, and make memories that outlast borders and bucket lists.

Interests

I’m endlessly curious about people, cultures, and the human heart. I love trekking into the wild, but I also love trekking into conversations that go deep. I enjoy cooking, eating, dancing like no one’s watching, and laughing till my stomach hurts. I’m fascinated by history, space, emotions, and everything that makes us feel alive. I believe human connection is the greatest adventure and I’m here for it.

  • cooking and eating

Music, Movies, and Books

🎶 Music: I vibe with anything that fits the soul from romantic ballads to indie lo-fi, Sufi, pop, rap, and even songs I don’t understand but deeply feel. Music is my therapy, my escape, my rhythm of life.

📚 Books: I love books that make me think, feel, or heal from thought-provoking non-fiction like Sapiens to magical escapes like Harry Potter and soulful reads like The Alchemist. I’m also into thrillers and adventure stories that keep me hooked and curious. If a book changes my perspective or lingers in my mind, it’s a win.

🎬 Movies: I’m drawn to films that stir something inside like psychological thrillers, emotional romances, sci-fi adventures, and life-affirming stories. I admire movies like Shutter Island, Titanic, Interstellar, Kaithi, Into the Wild, Catch Me If You Can, and Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara. If it makes me reflect, cry, laugh, or feel fully alive. That’s my kind of film.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

In 2020, something rare happened in the skies; Comet NEOWISE made a once-in-a-decade appearance. I didn’t want to miss it. So I climbed to the top of a water tank and waited under the starry night sky. When I finally saw it with my own eyes, I can’t explain the goosebumps it gave me. For a moment, it felt like the universe whispered directly to me. That memory is still etched deep in my soul.

And one of the most meaningful things I’ve done? During the COVID-19 crisis and floods in my region, I quietly saved a portion of my monthly salary, bought food, clothes, and basic essentials, and personally helped around 30 families in need. No NGOs, no spotlight. Just a small human effort. That experience still fills me with more happiness than anything I’ve ever bought for myself.

Teach, Learn, Share

Teach: How to cook Indian food with love, romantic Bengali phrases that melt hearts, travel like a local, vibe like a crazy adventurer, and maybe even how to question life while stargazing.

Learn: Your stories, your traditions, your favorite comfort food, your way of seeing the world. Teach me something weird, something beautiful, or something your grandma passed down.

Share: Stories over tea, music that hits the soul, long walks, big laughs, honest talks, and those little moments that make life feel real. If you’re open to it, I’ll also share a piece of my culture, my chaos, and my connection to this strange, magical planet we all share.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I live with my parents in a cozy rented apartment in Kolkata. So while I love meeting people from around the world, I kindly expect guests to be respectful and mindful of the home environment.

You’ll have access to a clean, comfortable, shareable room that can accommodate up to 4 people. Please note: no alcohol or smoking is allowed inside the house as we maintain a clean, healthy, and family-friendly space.

But hey, beyond the rules, I promise you this
We’ll laugh, gossip, and chill over a good cup of Indian chai. If you love music, let’s jam. If you’re a foodie, I cook delicious, authentic homemade Indian meals, and I’d love to teach you how to make some too! 🍛🎶☕

We can explore the city together from famous sights to hidden gems and if you need help planning your trip around India, I’ve got you

And here’s a fun twist: If you’re a content creator, YouTuber, or trying to build your social media presence, I’d be happy to help. I currently support 2–3 creators with their thumbnails, video ideas, reach strategy, and channel growth. So yes, this could be both fun and productive for you 📸🎬📈

I’m not here just for a free place to stay. I’m here for a meaningful human connection. If that sounds like you too, we’ll get along just fine
