About Me

CURRENT MISSION

You've gotta love what you do... As soon as you stop loving it, find something different!

ABOUT ME

I'm a fun, caring, energetic teacher who is in my 15th year of teaching 10 to 14 year olds how to play different band instruments (such as flute, oboe, clarinet, saxophone, trumpet, etc.). I love to play and watch sports, listen to music, go to concerts, and travel. I met my wonderful wife, Paula, salsa dancing in 2012, and we got married in 2015.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have hosted a few people, but I generally like to use this when I travel to other locations. I like to meet local people who can show me the places that the guidebooks don't know.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Just about every experience I have had with CouchSurfers has been excellent. It's great to hear the stories that people have and the life experiences people can share with me. I hope to continue to develop more opportunities to use CS.

Interests

Some of my biggest hobbies include salsa dancing, photography, playing golf, ultimate frisbee, and basketball. I go out as much as I can during my summers! I would love to learn how to dance the tango in Argentina. I love to meet new people and really sit and learn about them. I find there are several good places to do this, especially on airplanes and in elevators. I'm the type of person that can stand in the back of an airplane and just talk with someone for a few hours at a time. I like to learn new things!

Music, Movies, and Books

I am a big fan of all types of music, ranging from Jazz to Oldies. I also love latin music, such as salsa, cha cha cha, merengue, bachata, etc.

My favorite book is Tuesdays with Morrie. I love the lessons it addresses.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've seen some pretty amazing things in my life, including Macchu Picchu, a concert at the Syndey Opera House, a kangaroo on a golf course in Cairns, Australia, a beautiful sunset in the middle of the Outback, a gondola ride in Venice, the Western Wall in Jerusalem, and have met some of the most amazing people throughout the world.

Teach, Learn, Share

Teaching is my life. One of the main reasons I teach is because, every day that I teach something, I also learn something. Being able to share my time with my students, and watch them grow from kids to adults is really what it's all about.

Countries I’ve Visited
