About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To go to Mexico as often as possible to visit friends and explore...

ABOUT ME

I love to cook. I love to travel. Exploring away from a group is the best way to see the hidden life on the backroads of the world. I always bring home exotic foods (if I can get them through customs) instead of silly souvenirs.

I have spent 5 years doing Travel Marketing with the Swiss-based Interhome - European vacation rental firm.

For CS hosts: I'm very low maintenance. I don't smoke and don't do drugs. I like an occasional glass of wine. I can be both friendly or private, as the occasion warrants. I eat most anything, including chapulines (grasshoppers) in Mexico. Each spring I go on a vegan detox diet followed by a 4 day fast. I like cats and cats like me. Dogs, birds, fish are also good creatures. If I'm staying with you I will certainly respect all your house rules.I grew up in a New Jersey shore beach town, across the street from the sand dunes. As a child I woke up every morning to see the sun rise out of the Atlantic. Early in the morning my mother would walk over to the beach, surf-cast with her bamboo pole and bring home fish for breakfast - something that was possible in those days. I LOVE the ocean. It's rhythms are deep inside me. I can tell it's temperature by the color of the water and the shape of the waves.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm not as involved in the CS community as much as I'd like. I'm hoping to change that in 2012.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

So far so good! I have been contacted for hosting requests a number of times but had to decline most of them. The reason: most were last-minute requests - AND/OR - lots of people (3-4 in a group) - AND/OR - they had lots of bikes that I couldn't securely store - AND/OR - folks who wanted to stay for more than a week... Given my apartment situation I can usually only offer 1-2 nights for 1-2 people. Thanks.

Interests

Ketzalxiuhteotl (indigenous Mexican) energy work. Great food, cooking with/for friends. Good conversation. Liberal/progressive (from a very conservative family). Likes politics, but dislikes to argue.

Music, Movies, and Books

Who can remember them all? For example:BOOK: The Caliph's HouseMOVIE: The Girl With the Dragon TattooMUSIC: Natacha Atlas

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

1 - I've flown in the GOODYEAR BLIMP!

2 - The last person I told about an experience I had during a spiritual retreat in Mexico kindly informed me I was suffering from a mass delusion. Never mind. ;-)

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm open to all kinds of learning and willing to share what I know. For potential hosts, if there's time during my stay I can do a energy space clearing of your home using a practice I have learned from my spiritual teacher. For further discussion...
