About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Survive life...it's hard to make it out alive ;)

ABOUT ME

I'm 6'4". I always wear black but I'm not a goth, by goth standards. I love mexican food and will miss it terribly when not in places that have it. I think a lot about social injustices and the fate of the human soul (if it exists), while living in ways that create happiness in my immediate vicinity. I choose to struggle against myself--and use that energy for internal change--rather than struggle with others. I don't eat meat. I want to teach english abroad while learning of that places' culture. I love see things in absurd or fascinating new ways. I like to figure out what artistic/philosophical generation most echoes my own sentiments.

Personality-wise, I'm talkative, easily excitable, easygoing, and easy to get along with. If I recognize that I have made a mistake, I will right it, and I value that trait in others. I like alcohol, but don;t recommend it in excess; I try to seek the middle way. I LOVE music and can be a bit of a video game freak at times.

PHILOSOPHY

I like a little of a lot of philosophies, but when it comes down to it, I do too much thinking and not enough acting. This is something I want to change. I think self-improvement is a good thing, and creating new experiences is a good way of doing that.

Music, Movies, and Books

I've seen my fair share of movies...favorites: Fight Club, What the Bleep Do we Know, Big Fish...I want to be a movie buff so I try and watch anything halfway decent.
Bands: SYSTEM OF A DOWN, tool, radiohead, dredg, old p-roach, el bicho, ojos de brujo, manu chau...actually my musical taste has become more esoteric lately
Books: Walden, 1984, Brave New World, Fahrenheit 451, anything by Philip K. Dick, Vonnegut, Fromm, Pahlaniuk...some other stuff

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Staring up at the canyon wall from a boat on the river between Portugal and Madrid, there is nothing but straight, flat rock, eclipsing the sun and blocking the sky. I feel small. It's a strange feeling for one accustomed to feeling larger-than-life.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'd be happy to teach:
How to get your computer/camera/other electronic doodad to work right
Guitar
Languages
Anything not mind-numbingly boring I learned in college (your mileage may vary)

I want to learn:
Sculpture of useful objects (cups, bowls, etc)
Welding
How to grow my own food
Sewing/Clothes designing!!!
Candlemaking
New cooking recipes
How to do a wheelie on a bicycle
More about a lot of intellectual topics
