ABOUT ME

I am very outgoing and personable. I enjoy traveling as much as I can and I am always seeking new adventures. I spent most of my childhood vacations on road trips throughout the United States with my loud and entertaining family. Seeing new places and meeting new people sparked my desire to explore on a larger scale. While in college, I was fortunate enough to be able to study abroad in Beijing, China. Submerging myself in the history of the city and indulging in the tasty street food, I spent five months falling in love with the country. Soon, I will be moving to Madrid, Spain to teach for the upcoming academic year and I hope to be able to travel as much as I can throughout Europe.

PHILOSOPHY

I really enjoy getting lost in a new place. For me, I believe that is the best way to learn your way around as well as discover certain qualities about yourself. I am also a strong believer in Carpe Diem. I try to take advantage of opportunities that come my way as much as possible and feel a sense of reward from this philosophy. Surrounding yourself in beautiful places with interesting people, seems like a good way to live ones life.

Coming from the Pacific Northwest of the United States, I love outdoor adventures. Whether it be hiking, kayaking, wandering through various farmers markets or flea markets-time spent outdoors is always time well spent. I consider myself a foodie, so I really like discovering new "hole-in-the-wall" restaurants and new coffee or tea houses.

I am a major movie buff. I often have conversations solely consisting of movie quotes with my siblings. Old movies, new movies, good movies and bad movies-I am a fan. I do not think life would be very interesting if music did not exist. Though I have been out of the instrument playing scene for awhile, I still enjoy listening to all types of music. Nothing beats listening to live music. I love to read. I am a fan of the literary classics but I am always looking for recommendations.

Spending 24 hours on a crowded train was well worth it when I arrived in Lhasa, Tibet. The days I spent wandering through the street markets, witnessing prayer sessions, and admiring the wonders of the Potala Palace was truly a once in a lifetime opportunity. Absolutely one of my most treasured experiences.
