Hey im Blake! I'm an 19 year old CNA from The Dalles, OR. Growing up in the Gorge has given me a craving for adventure and exploration, there is always something new to find in nature, always something to learn. I love hiking through the forests of Oregon, and hitting all the bends of the roads on my road bike.
I take sanctuary in the woods, when i am encompassed in nature i feel at home. I love to draw, garden, and throw pottery. basically any time i can create things with my hands, is a good time.
I also love to read, though i don't get around to it quite as often as i'd like. But at the moment i am reading Kim and William Stafford as they tell tales of Oregon's history and its presence.
I work as a nursing assistant for disabled veteran's, these people have become such a large part of my life. There is so much happiness drawn from working with these people, and i have never experienced anything so rewarding.
Usually when i am staying as a guest, i am incredibly social, if there are other guests i love to interact with them and learn their story. However, at times i do value my privacy, being able to get away from large groups at my convenience is a big plus for me.
I love to learn what other people have to teach. I am a very free-form "go with the flow" kind of person. I am not one for grand scheme planning, or planning my trips to the dot. My best trips have come as impromptu experiences, waking up one morning and deciding to drive to the beach for the day, or going to a coffee shop in downtown Portland. I believe that all experiences are welcome and valuable.
Currently I'm living in Albany, Oregon. I live with my two roommates and we always have a couch open in our living room. I'm thinking about starting to host people on their way through so if the time and situation are right, maybe we can set something up.

I don't think that there are very many experiences that can match the experience of staying in another's home. I do not want to stay in a 5-star hotel, they are all the same. I want to meet new people and experience new cultures!

Intereses

I love to be outside, While recently returned from backpacking trip to Europe. I love to play music and sing, i play Guitar, Ukulele, and Harmonica. Other than that, i just love to meet new people, that is my absolute favorite thing in life.

I read a lot of authors from my home state of Oregon, My favorites include Kim and William Stafford. I also love all of J.R.R Tolkien's works.
