I'm a computer scientist from New Jersey, USA. I'm currently living in Pittsburgh, PA for grad school.

I like to couchsurf and to host.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

My first two times couchsurfing were in Burkina Faso. I'm not sure how you could pick a more interesting place to start.

兴趣

I'm really into music, the arts generally, computers, and photography. I play bass/guitar/string bass/hammered dulcimer and am always down to jam. I also did a lot of sound/light/set design for theater events through college and can usually be convinced to see any sort of drama or dance productions.

A few favorite movies- The Fountain, Requiem for a Dream, Edward Scissorhands, Donnie Darko, The Corpse Bride, El Orfanato, Kontroll

Favorite authors include Nick Hornby (A Long Way Down, High Fidelity), Jack Kerouac (Tristessa, Dharma Bums), and Junot Diaz (Drown, The Brief Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao).

My musical tastes are all over the place... from rock (Yo La Tengo, Firewater, Nirvana, Sonic Youth) to jazz (Esperanza Spalding, Dave Holland, Vijay Iyer, Charles Mingus) to "world music" (Toumani Diabate, Djelimady Tounkara, Besh o droM) to metal (From Autumn to Ashes, Between the Buried and Me). I'm also fortunate to have a bunch of friends who are brilliant musicians.
