ABOUT ME

i am a butterfly of many colours.. sometimes i am contemplative and introspective and philosophical and questioning. sometimes i want to forget about myself and my bubble and just melt into nature cos thats where we come from and go back to...if you lose touch with nature you lose your soul...
but the balance is important and i have lots of fun in my bubble :) i love to party and meet friends old and new, be silly and carefree and learn from each other and share the love and respect that make friends so special...
i am open minded and love how this world is made up of so many different characters and cultures...i love those differences yet how we are also all so similar...
creative expression fascinates me...whether it is my own ideas flowing in music or art or if i am appreciating somebody elses expression, to be absorbed in creating something beautiful and meaningful is a precious gift to us all!
when i worry about this world and where its heading with all the greed and violence and dis-ease and uncaring i look at networks like CS and i look at all the good people around me and i have hope xx

like all good things you gotta spread the word! grass roots is most powerful... I've been having a bit of time out recently while having a baby and setting up a business, but when I am somewhere we can host again, will look forward to meeting more of you!!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

im have only hosted couchsurfers so far, and met some local couchsurfers, some of whom have become good friends. even those people who just come in and out of your life play a part in it, you learn something from everyone you meet and hopefully thats a mutual thing!

Music, Movies, and Books

there is so much music i love..music with a hint of mischief, ancestral rhythm, toe curling bass, sweeet harmony, heart lifting melody, raw energy, tenderness...i love music with elements of latin and afrobeats, jazz and funk, soul and reggae, quality dance music in all its shapes and guises, house to hip hop to dnb to electronica, acoustic to punk bands, live instrumentation to cutandpaste sampledom, all music has its time and place and my ears are open!!!

books..all sorts..cant get enough of gabriel garcia marquez, louis de bernieres, bill bryson, george orwell, roald dahl, will self, alexander mccall smith, huxley, the dalai lama, calvin & hobbes..the list goes on...
recently read the power of now and siddhartha...both blew me away and made my eyeballs turn in out and round about...amaaaaaazing...

films..intelligent, surreal, funny, character based, animations, short films, world cinema..delicatessen, spirited away, y tu mama tambien, koyaanisqatsi, the shining, amelie, the goonies, the cannonball run, an inconvenient truth. also comedy such as spaced, black books, extras, anything with bill bailey in!!

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you about bats! i have a detector which allows humans to hear their ultrasound. and about other amazing creatures and how they all live in balance and depend on each other. And I can teach you how to mix records!! I currently produce my own radio show on www.phonic.fm which is on some Sundays so you may be able to come and sit in with me!

I have lots of music to share and a love of the arts and creativity around me! and I would love to learn about new music and culture that may not be so familiar to me! I would love an exchange on cooking tips, learn some new dishes...
