About Me

I am a bartender and school teacher, speak some Spanish, and climb rocks in my spare time. I like IPA's and quantum mechanics, and have a soft spot for dogs.

Well-mannered and respectful as a guest willing to sleep wherever there are a few cubic feet (meters?) of flat space, and happy to do the dishes.

Interested in the natural world, and eager to avoid the typical tourist traps and traveler's ephemera. Off the beaten path, weird, funky, local, experiences outside the typical or stereotypical.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I have climbed 24 consecutive hours for a climbing competition, have been impaled (not related to the climbing), have three black belts, watched the sun rise from atop a Mayan temple, worked as a sushi chef, and once passed the Mensa test but did not have any money to pay for the membership.
